OUR STORY

Our story began in Portugal 34 years ago.

The Cake was inspired after a trip to Paris, by chef Carlos Bras Lopes, who spent thousands of hours finessing his chocolate cake recipe. In 1987 the recipe was finally perfected and he began serving the cake at his restaurant, Mercado de Santa Clara. Since then, the recipe has not changed.

In 2002 in Lisbon a dream came true, Carlos opened his first The Best Chocolate Cake In The World shop. From there to now, there are hundreds of shops around the globe, you can find in Portugal, Australia, United States, Spain, Brazil, Angola and Panama.

Here in Australia, located in an iconic retail destination, we have been at Westfield Warringah Mall since 2011.
